CHONGQING is taking series of measures to stimulate further development of its international logistics services, Xinhua reports.

  The city is continuing to develop the Chongqing-Shanghai scheduled direct shipping service by increasing frequency and offering the service exclusive berth and supportive policies. From January to September, the Chongqing-Shanghai direct shipping service ran more than 500 sailings.

  Chongqing has also enhanced its Cuntan bonded port area's distribution capacity by launching the waterway transshipment service to Luzhou and Yibin. During the first nine months of this year, the service ran 50 sailings, moving transshipments with a total value of more than US$200 million.

  Chongqing will also strengthen its support and administration on international freight forwarders. From January to September, there have been 82 newly established international logistics service providers in Chongqing.
